Microsoft Windows 11 is getting an smooth way to restore apps to a new PC

The Microsoft Store eventually gets restore apps support

Microsoft is ultimately including restore apps to the Microsoft Store on Windows 11. The software program maker will soon start testing a new function that permits you to restore apps onto a new Windows 11 PC. The current Microsoft Store hasn’t offered an automated way to restore apps, rather forcing Windows users to manually install apps from their library.

“To make it simpler for customers to transition to their new PCs quick and seamlessly, we will soon test a new function in the Windows Insider channel that helps clients automatically restore their apps, formerly installed from the Microsoft Store, to their new Windows device,” explains Giorgio Sardo, general manager of the Microsoft Store. “This will also help developers retain their customers without having to remind clients to re-download their app.”

Restoring apps will be especially useful for clients who transfer PCs often or developers who use virtual machines and more than one devices regularly. Windows users have had to rely on third-party bundle managers for a similar, albeit more powerful, experience.
