Survey indicates Netflix is dropping more long-term subscribers

More long-time period Netflix subscribers are canceling their subscriptions, in line with a record from The Information. Survey data viewed by the outlet found out that subscribers who have been with the carrier for more than 3 years accounted for 13 percentage of cancellations in the first quarter of 2022.

The Information says it got its information from Antenna, an analytics firm that gathers data from five million Americans who share their streaming subscriptions anonymously. The data confirmed that general cancellations hit 3.6 million people last quarter, an boom from the 2.5 million cancellations in the past five quarters.
As the quantity of cancellations overall has grown, The Information reviews that new customers are accounting for a smaller share of them — another indicator that Netflix is struggling to retain users for longer periods of time. In the second one quarter of 2021, humans surveyed who subscribed to the platform for less than 365 days made up 70 percentage of cancellations, while long-term subscribers accounted for 6 percent. 60 percentage of cancellations were made by newer subscribers last quarter.
